How many people does the private double sleep?

One double bed, made up for two. It's a private room, not a dorm, so it's just you, or you and your travel partner.

What's the difference between this and a dorm?

The private double has its own door and no bunks. You're not sharing the room with other guests, unlike the six-bed dorm or four-bed female dorm.

Can private double guests use the shared kitchen?

Yes. Every guest at Saltbush, dorm or private, has full use of the shared kitchen.
